The Carlisle High School Alumni Association was
reorganized in 2000 to promote goodwill among CHS graduates and others that
attended our school over the years. Since reorganizing, the Alumni
Association has provided a college scholarship to a deserving graduating
senior each year. We're proud to support our graduates and want to do
more. It is the vision of the Alumni Association that our scholarship
activities grow into one or more endowed, perpetual funds so that we may
continue to support our students with expanded benefits. To this end,
it was determined that a formal scholarship foundation would best serve the
needs.
In Spring 2004, after much hard
work and determination, the Alumni Association was successful in founding
a non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling our goals. This
organization is known as the Carlisle Scholarship Foundation, Inc.
While we maintain the scholarship funds of the Alumni Association, our
charter also allows us to extend our services to anyone wanting to establish
scholarship funds for students of Carlisle High School. You can read our Articles of Incorporation
here.
The Carlisle Scholarship Foundation, Inc.
receives it's direction from a Board of Directors elected by the board of
the CHS Alumni Association, and is tasked with the responsibility of
maintaining the present scholarship programs, as well as cultivating new
opportunities and partnerships. Our complete set of By-Laws are
available for download
here.
As a
tax-exempt organization with 501(c)3 status, the Foundation can act as a
tax sheltered beneficiary for private citizens as well as corporate
entities. Anyone wishing to contribute to an existing scholarship
fund may do so easily by contributing to our Foundation. Anyone
wishing to establish new, dedicated endowments of their own, may do so
through our Foundation as well. The Carlisle Scholarship Foundation,
Inc., exists to act as an umbrella organization to manage and maintain
scholarships for multiple purposes.
